Five things worth knowing before you book anything
Written from the questions that come in, not from a list of search terms. Each one is short, because none of these subjects is genuinely complicated once somebody explains it.
01The five

Timing
How early to leave for a New York airport
The arithmetic the desk does when somebody asks what time the car should come, and why the answer is different for each of the three airports.

Arrivals
What a flight number actually does on a booking
The single field that separates a pickup that survives a delay from one that costs you a waiting charge, and why we ask for it every time.

Meeting points
Kerbside pickup or meet at terminal
Two ways to be found at an airport, what each costs in money and minutes, and the situations where one of them is clearly the wrong answer.

Equipment
Moving cases through New York
What changes when the luggage is equipment rather than suitcases: the count, the shapes, the load time and the pavement you are loading from.

Money
What actually moves the price of an airport run
Six things change the number on an airport transfer quote, and only one of them is the distance. Here they are in the order they matter.
02Where these come from
Every piece here started as a question somebody asked on the telephone, usually the night before a flight and usually in a slightly worried voice. The answers were already being given twenty times a month, so they were written down.
Nothing on this page is sponsored, nothing links off this site, and nothing is here to rank for a phrase. If a subject cannot be explained honestly in a thousand words it is not on the list.
03The two that matter most
If you read only two, read the one about flight numbers and the one about what moves the price. Between them they cover the two things people get wrong most often and the two that cost the most when they go wrong.
04Ask us instead
If you would rather just ask, that is what the desk is for. Call +1 (646) 559-3082 inside hours and speak to a specialist, or send the run through the booking form and put the question in the notes field. Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 8:30 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Eastern Time.
